Mrs. Dorothy Belle Glenn

It is with heartfelt sympathy, the management and staff of Luke Strong and Son Mortuary, Ltd. are saddened to announce the passing of Mrs. Dorothy Belle Glenn, 75, of South Mills, North Carolina. Dorothy Belle Glenn, affectionately known as “Dot”, lived a life full of love, laughter, strength, and style. Those who knew her best know that she would want to be remembered not only with tears, but with joy, gratitude, and celebration for a life beautifully lived. Born Dorothy Belle Davis on October 9, 1950, in Moultrie, GA, she departed this life on May 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable warmth. Though her roots were in Georgia, she spent much of her adult life in Virginia Beach, VA before later settling in South Mills, NC with her husband, George Glenn, in 2002. There, she became a faithful and active member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church and continued doing what she did best — building community, loving deeply, and enjoying life to the fullest. Dorothy was a woman of intelligence, determination and grit. She proudly served her country in the United States Navy before building a remarkable 35-year career as an Human Resources Generalist with QED Systems, Inc. She worked hard, carried herself with dignity, and touched countless lives through her kindness and authenticity. But beyond her accomplishments, Dorothy knew how to enjoy life. She loved being with family and friends, dancing in Zumba classes, run/walking with Black Girls RUN!, getting lost in a John Grisham novel, and of course, shopping for something fabulous. She brought energy, humor, wisdom, and comfort wherever she went. Her smile could brighten a room, and her presence made people feel loved, welcomed, and steady. She took the most pride in and care of her family. She leaves behind her husband of 48 years, George Glenn; her daughters, Jennifer Glenn Roberson (Joe Roberson), and Kimberly Glenn Jemmott (Benny Jemmott); and her cherished grandchildren, Gabby Blanks, Justin Cox, Ava Jemmott, and Irie Jemmott, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sisters Pauline Davis and Nancy Lard along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dorothy’s legacy is one of perseverance, faith, love, and joy. She taught those around her how to show up for family, how to stay strong through life’s challenges, and how to keep living along the way. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, laughter, lessons, and spirit will continue to live on through everyone blessed enough to know her. A celebration of life service will be held on May 24, 2026 in Moultrie, GA. The family thanks everyone for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this time as they celebrate the beautiful life and lasting legacy of Dorothy Belle Glenn.
