Mr. Wesley Bernard "Knee" Davis

Wesley Bernard Davis, son of James Wesley Davis and the late Shirley Ann Davis, was born on January 27, 1963 in Moultrie, GA. His Stepmother, Andrea Torres Davis, also loved him dearly. Wesley departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the age of 58. Today, we want you to know that Wesley lived a life where he loved to encourage and help others. He was kind-hearted, funny, and always “had jokes.” He would want you to smile, then he would pause to tell you how much he loved you. He always said, “you have to tell people that you loved them while they are here on this earth.” You knew that you were extra special when he called you his “favorite”. In his early years, he grew up with his sister, Thressa Yvette Barnes of Maryland, married to Willie Barnes; and brothers Orlanda Dewayne Davis of Tennessee, married to Keshia Davis; and Ricky Lorenzo Davis of Moultrie. Wesley was the oldest and would often have to take care of his siblings while their mother worked. He made sure that they did their chores. But, he also made sure that they had plenty of fun which would normally lead to them being in a bit of trouble later. Wesley also has two younger sisters, Jamie Nicole Burdi of Florida, married to Jordan Burdi; and Netasha Andrea Torres Davis of Germany. He loved both of you and did watch you grow into smart and accomplished women. He was so proud to be your brother. In his lifetime, Wesley was married twice. First, to Mrs. Valerie Bradshaw of Florida. Then, to Mrs. LaChandra Denton of Tennessee. Although divorced, he still loved each of them as dear friends and often spoke highly of them both. The following, is an excerpt from Josh Briwder’s reflection, Mrs. LaChandra Denton’s brother. We believe his words speak to how Wesley showed loved and it’s an example of who he truly was. He always encouraged those around him to do better. “Big Bro, I’m going to miss our conversations. You talking to me about football, telling me about life and to always stay focus. You are a big part of the reason I am who I am today. Everything you’ve talked to me about accomplishing in life, I’ve done it. And I’m glad the Grand Architect kept you here long enough to see it…. …Till we meet again big brother.” Love Josh Wesley loved sports, life, family, and friends. But, most importantly, he loved God and knew God loved him. He enjoyed and loved attending service at Mother Easter Baptist Church. Our brother, Dewayne spoke of how their last conversation involved praying together and ensuring that Wesley was saved and had given his life to Christ. In the words of his brother Ricky, “My brother, my friend, and my big homie has gone on to a better place to be with our other love ones. So y’all please help me say goodbye to “Big Brother.” I love you boy no matter what we went through RIP” In honor and celebration of Wesley’s life, please reach out to a friend or loved one and tell them you love them while they are still here on this earth. So, as Wesley said to his sister, Yvette, one day, “I love James Davis. I love that old man.” To our Elder Cousin, Cynthia L. Dawson, Wesley said that you were his example for showing love and helping others. Wesley spoke about how he would do anything for you and he loved you dearly. Yvette, always lovingly referred to her brother as “My Favorite Big Brother.” We will always love you! It is well with your soul. Wesley is survived by one son, Wesley Bernard Davis II of Tennessee, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, many cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
