It is with heartfelt sympathy, the management and staff of Luke Strong and Son Mortuary, Ltd, are saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Miles Warren Bridges. He was born to the late Mildry Bridges and Claretha Stewart Bridges in Moultrie, Georgia on June 28, 1954. On Monday evening, April 18, 2022, Miles departed this life at his residence. He was 67 years old. Miles was a graduate of the Colquitt County Public School System. After graduation he matriculated at Albany State College where he graduated and received a B.S. Degree in 1977. He later enlisted in the United States Army where he earned the rank of Sergeant before receiving an honorable discharge on November 19, 1990. He was employed in the Information Technology Industry for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the Prince Hall Affiliated Freemasons. In his spare time, Miles enjoyed playing the saxophone, traveling, listening to music, watching westerns, comedy, civil rights, computers/gaming, basketball, baseball and poetry. He was also a family historian. Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his parents, Mildry and Claretha Bridges; one sister, Toni Bridges and one brother, Alvon Bridges. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Devanie Johnson of Jessup, Maryland; one son, Xavier Bridges of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Valeria Bridges of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Bo “Mildry” Bridges of Kansas City, Kansas, and Dale Bridges (Cherry) of Moultrie, Georgia; one grandson, London Johnson of Jessup, Maryland; two special friends, Victor Douglas of Atlanta, Georgia and Doc Madison (Liz) of Florissant, Missouri; additional family members, Kollette (Tanisha) Yates (Joseph), Tamicca Bridges both of Atlanta, Georgia, Latasse Thompson of Augusta, Georgia, Laresh Bridges, Nito Bridges (Kema) of Lagrange, Georgia, Duke Haggins (Paige) of Maryland, Milton Bridges and a host of other relatives and friends.
