Mr. William Joe Bell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William was born on June 19, 1937 in Seminole County, Georgia to the late Otis Bell, Sr. and the late Lueiza Alford Bell. William transitioned from his earthly home on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Miller County Hospital in Colquitt, Georgia. William was employed with the City of New York Department of Environment Protections. Deacon Bell attended Goodwill Baptist Church in Bronx, New York from 1963 to 2001 where he served diligently on the Deacon Board, Trustee Board and Pastor Aide Committee; a member of the Gospel Chorus and Male Chorus. He attended Sunday School regularly. He later moved to Moultrie, Georgia and moved his church membership to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Missionary Worker and Laymen. He enjoyed missionary work, visiting the sick and bowling. After graduation from high school, William furthered his education at a Vocational Technical School and received a certificate in Appliance Repair. He loved working on washing machines and stoves. He served in the United States Army for 3 years; and 17 years in the Army Reserve. He retired as a Staff Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cora Jones and Beulah Bell Carr; and three brothers, Elijah Bell, Amos Bell and Lamar Bell. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 51 years Anne Bell of Moultrie, Georgia; sons, Gregory Bell, Sr. of Moultrie, Georgia and Marvin Bell (wife Jennifer) of Bulgaria; brothers, Otis Bell, Jr.(wife Betty) of Moultrie, Georgia and Johnny Bell (wife Nancy) of Middletown, New York; sister, Shirley Bell of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Chayla Ann Bell of Bronx, New York, Kamaar Bell and Shanasia Bell both of Moultrie, Georgia and Gregory Bell, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Vera Baldwin of Bronx, New York; sister-in-law, Linda Atkins of Los Angeles, California; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
