Mr. Eddie Wilson, Jr.

It is with heartfelt sympathy, the management and staff of Luke Strong and Son Mortuary, Ltd. are saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Eddie Wilson, Jr., 79, formally of Moultrie, Georgia. The celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Mother Easter Baptist Church in Moultrie, Georgia. The Committal Service will conclude at Pinecrest Memory Garden in Moultrie, Georgia. Eddie Wilson, Jr. was born on December 24, 1946, in Moultrie, Georgia, to the late Lola Bell Huntley Wright. He departed this life peacefully at Harborview Briarwood Facility in Tucker, Georgia. At an early age, Eddie gave his life to Christ and became a faithful and devoted member of Mother Easter Baptist Church. After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, he continued his Christian walk by attending Genesis Deliverance Ministry and Southside Baptist Church. Eddie was a man of faith who deeply loved the Lord and his church family. Even after illness confined him to his bed, his desire to worship never faded. When he could no longer attend services in person, church remained close to his heart through prayer, gospel messages, and fellowship from afar. His unwavering faith and devotion were an inspiration to all who knew him. Eddie was known for his love of church, music, and fellowship with others. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to joke, and brought laughter wherever he went. In his quiet moments, he enjoyed working Bible crossword puzzles and spending time reflecting on his faith. Above all, Eddie was a great father who loved his children deeply and took pride in his family. He attended Job Corps, where he received certification in Welding, a skill that reflected his hardworking spirit and determination. He was preceded in death by his parents; his ex-wife, Dorothy Scott-Young; his grandparents, Mose and Irene Huntley; and his mother-in-law, Pearlie Mae Burns. Eddie leaves to cherish his loving memory four daughters: Portia Wilson Gude (Shawn) and LaKeta Wilson, both of Moultrie, Georgia; Turshandah Wilson Bentley (James) of Loganville, Georgia; and Netasha Wilson of Lilburn, Georgia. He also leaves six grandchildren: Desmond Cruz, Ebonee Studstill, Joshua Hernandez, Chance Wilson (Lesley), Jamiah Bentley, and Langston Jordan; four bonus grandchildren: Dashawn Gude, Krystal Gude, Tyeisha Gude, and Brandon Gude; and four great-grandchildren: Enrico Hill, Jr., Araina Cruz, Cyrus Wilson, and Eden Wilson. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jacqueline Scott; special friends, Reverend and Mrs. Darren Roberson, Earl and Cina Myers, and James Weeks; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
